Malaika delegates move deputy Tourism Minister to tears with birthday cake

This year’s Miss Malaika delegates has paid a courtesy call on the deputy minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dzifa Gomashie to wish her a belated happy birthday.

The minister, suprised by the visit, expressed her appreciation with tears of joy as the Malaika delegates sang for her and presented her a birthday cake. She said she will treasure their gift and thoughtfulness forever.

Dzifa Gomashie is no stranger to the Miss Malaika beauty pageant. For three consecutive years, she sat as a Godmother on the ‘Cultural Nite’ episode – a night where delegates represent their various cultural backgrounds. She shared her experiences about her time on the episode, saying “I will be proud to be associated with Miss Malaika anytime”.

The deputy minister encouraged the delegates to stay focused in the competition and not only strive to win the crown but also think of what they can do to help women in their respective society.

She further noted that amongst all beauty pageants in Ghana, Miss Malaika is different and stands out on its own.
