Ebenezer Assifuah has joined FC Sion on a five-year deal.

Swiss side FC Sion have announced the signing of 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup star Ebenezer Assifuah on a five-year deal.

Assifuah has been transferred from Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals to the Swiss Super League side.

He has been signed to replace Cameroonian striker Yannick Ndjeng who has returned to his former club Esperance of Tunisia.

The 20-year-old has been one of the sought-after youngsters in the world after winning top scorer at the U20 World Cup in Turkey with six goals.

French side St. Etienne were front-runners to sign him but his representatives believe Switzerland will be a fertile ground for the goal poacher to hone his talent.

Assifuah will join compatriot Ishmael Yartey at the club.

He has shown promising prospect since playing at the 2013 African Youth Championship in Algeria where he finished second top scorer.
