Egypt: Official – Alexandria Death Toll Rises to 15

The death toll in Alexandria’s clashes on Wednesday rose to 15, the city’s health authorities said.

The authorities added that 282 people were injured in the clashes and were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Alexandria witnessed several acts of violence on Wednesday, including cutting off the Corniche, assaulting citizen’s cars, and raiding the city council building, said Major General Amin Ezz al-Din, Alexandria’s head of security.

Several supporters of deposed President Mohamed Mursi attempted to storm three police stations in Alexandria but security forces countered these attempts.
