Ac Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari has extolled the qualities of Nigel De Jong describing him as ‘a natural born leader’ ahead of their Champions League play-off against PSV.
The Italian giants will play as guest of PSV in Holland in the first leg on August 20 before hosting the side in the second leg at the San Siro eight days later.
De Jong has return to the team full scale after missing almost an entire season with a torn Achilles tendon.
And the Ghanaian international believes the return of the combative holding midfielder will prove crucial.
“De Jong’s return is very important for us, very important. He is a tough player in front of the defence,” Muntari told Milan Channel
“We have a lot of good players in midfield but when you think of De Jong you think of someone who breaks up play, who plays it well and is a natural bornleader.”
“The important thing is to win and if my teammates score instead of me then that is just as good.
“We are preparing a very important game for us, for our entire season because we want to play in the Champions League and this is a game that we want to win at all costs.
“I am very happy with the way things are going and how the training camp has gone this summer in the USA.”
