Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah is focusing on player tactical discipline in the international friendly match against Turkey on Wednesday.

The Black Stars will face Turkey in Istanbul in the final preparatory game ahead of next month’s deciding 2014 World Cup qualifier against Zambia.

The game is to afford coach Appiah to assess the fitness of his regular players while also keeping a close eye on the new call ups.

Many are however of the view that the friendly against Turkey is a must win game to boost Ghana’s position in the FIFA world rankings.

The position of the Black Stars in this ranking will determine the opponent Ghana plays if they qualify to the playoff round of the World Cup qualifiers.

But coach Appiah though admitting will be happy with a win says his main focus will be on the response of his players to tactical variability.

“The most important thing is that tactically the players are playing their roles well,” he said.

“This is our final friendly game before we face Zambia (in 2014 World Cup qualifier).

“We want to assess the players to see if they can be relied upon in future games.

“It is very important that all the players show seriousness towards this game.

“A win is good but the most important thing for me is that the players play their tactical roles well.”
