Ghanaian midfielder Zakaria Abdullai is set to leave Gefle after the Swedish club confirmed his contract will not be extended.
The 23-year-old’s existing deal expires at the end of the current season after which he must look for a new club.
Abdullai was expected to play a more integral role this term following the departure of compatriot Yussif Chibsah to Djurgardens two seasons ago.
The ex Tudu Mighty Jets player has however failed to gain first team prominence under Per Olsson.
The club have now decided not to renew the contract of the Ghanaian when it expires at the end of the season.
Gefle are looking to redirect Abdullai’s wages into bettering that of their existing stars especially in their bid to keep Alexander Faltsetas.
Manager Per Olsson is also rumoured to be eyeing a return of Chibsah whose has one and a half years more to run on his contract at Djurgardens.
Gefle thus need to make space for this possibility and have thus decided not to keep Zakaria Abdullai.
