TV Africa CEO Installed As Nkosohene of Essikado

For a moment, well-known filmmaker Kwaw Paintsil Ansah might have thought it was all fiction playing out on a film set.

It was, however, real life when the chiefs and people of Essikado in the Western Region last Tuesday installed him as the Nkosohene of the Essikado traditional area.

It happened during the celebration of the Kundum festival of the area and Ansah, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of TV Africa, was bestowed with the title of Akokyemhene Kwaw Ansah I. His main concern would be to spearhead the overall development of the Essikado traditional area.

Theme for the Kundum festival was ‘Reviving the African Spirit.’ The Nkosohene position was given to Ansah based on the immense contribution he continues to make toward the promotion of the cultures of Africa.

In the process of his enstoolment, Ansah was taken through some principal streets of Essikado with his entourage. At the Essikado paramount chief’s palace, some rituals were performed to initiate him into office as the chief in charge of development in the area. The Nkosohene of Essikado steps outThe Nkosohene of Essikado steps out

The veteran film director then swore an oath of allegiance to Nana Kobina Nketsia, the paramount chief of the Essikado traditional area and his elders.

Ministers of state, Members of Parliament and chiefs and queens from across the country were present at Ansah’s installation.

The Essikado Kundum festival was supported by MTN.
