Former Accra Hearts Of Oak stalwart defender Anthony ‘Suhum Nsawam’ Yeboah who quit football in 2011 is on the verge of taking a major coaching job with a youth side of top European club.

Anthony Yeboah who now holds UEFA coaching license left Accra Hearts Of Oak in 2001 to feature for Lüner SV, SSV Hagen, Westfalia Herne and TUS Lingen all in Germany.

He also had stints in the Portuguese and Israeli leagues.

In a telephone chat with Ghana Broadcasting Corporation Regional FM in Sunyani , Anthony Yeboah praised the current Ghana Football Association leadership for transforming Ghana’s league and advised the GFA and Premier League Board to put more attention on the league to attract foreign players from the continent to spice the premiership.

According to him, the interest of soccer fans in the league is dying slowly despite the proliferation of FM stations in almost every district in the country.

He recalled with nostalgic feelings his days with Bofoakwa Tano and Accra Hearts Of Oak in the late 90’S when stadiums get full before 1:00pm.

He advised the Ghana Football Association to accord the premier league the same premium given to the senior national soccer team the Black Stars as a key measure to resuscitate it .

Anthony Yeboah says he will love to coach one of the junior national teams after he completes his Pro License coaching course.

Yeboah who enjoys close relationship with seasoned European coaches said his long awaited dream is to impart his knowledge in the game and that of the rich experience he has acquired from his links with high profile football managers he worked with during his playing days to the coming generation.
