More and more celebrities are getting hitched, with over 15 players off the market in the past three months, according to NET findings.
Last week, Psquare‘s Peter Okoye and Mavin recording artiste, Dr Sid joined the list with surprise proposals to their respective partners.
First, it was Peter who proposed to long time girlfriend and mother of his two kids, Lola Omotayo on Tuesday, August 6, 2013.
The ‘rudeboy‘ popped the magical question in their Lagos residence in front of brothers Paul and Jude and a few family friends, while also presenting Lola with a 2013 Range Rover, a diamond ring, flowers and a note that said, ‘Please say yes‘
Two days later it was Dr. Sid announcing on his Instagram page that his girlfriend, Simi Osomo had just said ‘Yes’ when he popped the big question while on a vacation in the beautiful city of Venice in Italy.
Since the engagements, series of congratulatory messages have been pouring in from family, friends, colleagues and fans who have continuously expressed their happiness for the couples’ new status and wishing them blissful marriages ahead.
Former Square Records signee, May D in a telephone chat with Nigeria Entertainment Today said of Peter’s engagement, ‘Lola and Peter have come a long way, and it is obvious that they were destined to be together. I can only wish them the best.’
Only a few weeks ago, actors, Mimi Orjiekwe and Charles ‘Billion’ Pius had gotten engaged in far away Zanzibar, Tanzania. The former ‘Tinsel‘ actor proposed to the actress while she was in the East African country celebrating her birthday.
Talented singer and guitarist Emmanuel Bezhiwa Idakula popularly known as Bez also got engaged to longtime girlfriend, Bolatito Ladoja, the daughter of a one-time Oyo State governor, Rasheed Ladoja.
Not only has the season come with multiple engagements, in the last few months, some have taken the bold walk down the aisle and hoping to enjoy a blissful marriage.
Some of the recently married celebs include, popular saxophonist, Yemi Sax, comedian Elenu, actors, Toyin Aimakhu and Niyi Johnson, ex- girlfriend of 2face Idibia, Sunmbo Ajaba, comedienne, Princess, Dotun Ojuolape and Taiwo Oyebanjo OAPs, Matse and Nadu and a few others.

WIzkid & Tania have been dating for over six months, and judging from the Instagram posts these two are crazy in love with each other, although it doesn’t look like Wizzy is ready to get married anytime soon. Shortly after news broke of Peter Okoye’s surprise Range Rover proposal to long term girlfriend Lola Omotayo’s, fans started to inundate the star boy with question about when he was going to get married, to which Wizzy replied ‘Another 10 yrs bro’.
