Wulomei

The original hands are no more in the group but the rich folksy sound was still there when the sensational Wulomei band played at the MTN Village set up at the Kemat Hotel, Big Ada for this year’s Asafotufiami festival of the chiefs and people of the Ada traditional area.

The MTN Village was a three-day thrilling affair which the telecommunications company brought on to entertain customers and add some spice to the festival.

Wulomei brought back sweet memories to the large audience that saw them play as they ran through classics like Wo Wee Loo, Mawie Ga, Kaafo, Gyeene, Gyae Nsa Nom, Kaa Gba, Somaya and Meridian.

Their target was primarily the mature folks who danced away the night and participated in an interactive SMS programme which won them a variety of MTN souvenirs.

The winner of the maiden MTN Hit-Maker contest, Naterial was also there with his hiplife and dancehall stuff which the young people greatly loved.

The official telecommunications sponsor for the 2013 Asafotufiami festival, MTN also did some product activation at the Rubstone Night Club at Ada Foah.

It topped off its involvement in this year’s Asafotufiami with a walk-a –thon and health screening exercise. The walk started from the forecourt of the palace at Big Ada amidst brass band music and ended at the MTN Village at Kemat Hotel.

Participants had the chance to check their blood pressure, body mass index, height and HIV status.

MTN is also sponsoring the ongoing Essikado Kundum festival in Takoradi.
