Victoria Hammah Is Certainly Bereft Of Knowledge…I Can’t Believe NDC Is Unleashing Such Incompetence On Us

A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is dismayed at the way and manner a Deputy Minister for Communications in the Mahama led administration brought ignominy and derision to herself and the government at a public gathering.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum East constituency, Hon. Dr. Kwabena Twum Nuamah, believes Ghana has passed the stage of having square pegs in round holes or incompetent persons as ministers of state; especially not when the country touts itself as having produced the first sub-saharan United Nations (UN) Secretary-General.

“It’s really embarrassing when I heard the sound bite of the deputy Communications Minster (Victoria Hammah) on some radio stations delivering the speech she claimed to have misplaced. I really feel pity for her. After Ghana being the first Black Country to produce a UN General Secretary, we (Ghanaians) cannot be subjected to such low level standards,” he noted.

Miss Victoria Hammah was faced with the unpleasant experience of having the speech she was to read at an official function, allegedly replaced with a wrong one.

Addressing journalists and stakeholders at a campaign to combat cybercrime in Ghana, Ms. Hammah, after reading scarcely three lines of the prepared speech, realized she was sounding incoherent and was just rummaging through it disjointedly.

She then paused and with a surprise look on her face, asked while still speaking into the microphone, “Where is the speech I edited. No, I can’t read this…. This morning, I edited this speech and this is different. And so I am trying to speak from my mind. So maybe I would do that. Ah!”

Discussing the incident on Adom FM, Dr. Twum Nuamah labeled the deputy Minister as too green for the position she is currently occupying.

“Assuming what she was saying is the truth, must she tell the whole world all that? So, was there no way she could have presented her speech in a more matured way? You know what…before you are handed over some positions; you need some level of experience and even afterwards…there must be some orientation to abreast you with the position.

“…for a country like this state (Ghana), to have a Minister who can exhibit such level of incompetency as far as her work is concern, in fact, I am very dispirited…they cannot unleashed such levels of incompetence on us,” he stated.
