Uni Stars President Ernest Yamoah Kufuor claims AshGold-target Christopher Bonney wants to join Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko.

AshGold have officially made a bid for the versatile right-back but their offer is set to rejected as the Ghana CHAN squad member is set to join Kotoko.

AshGold coach Bashir Hayford watched Bonney during the Local Black Stars’ training sessions in Obuasi and is convinced about his abilities.

However Kotoko’s handsome bid, CAF Champions League action and personal wish has forced the club and player to opt for the Porcupine Warriors.

Dwarfs who nurtured Bonney last season would also represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup also want Bonney back at the club but are not ready to break the bank to sign the youngster.

“There are a lot of offers for Bonney and we have not decided on where he will play next season but he personally has expressed interest in joining Kotoko,” Kuffuor told Accra-based Asempa FM.

He will become Kotoko’s official signing of the off season if a deal is sealed next week.
