Michael Essien’s Chelsea triumphed over AC Milan who had Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng starting to progress to the finals of the International Champions Cup on Sunday.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne and a last gasp strike from Andre Schurlle secured a 2-0 win for Jose Mourinho’s team in the game played before a 39,764 crowd at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The game saw three Ghanaians starting the match with Michael Essien grabbing a starting place in the Blues set up alongside Muntari and Boateng who featured for the Rossoneri in the competitive pre-season game.

The match also had another Ghanaian; Kingsley Boateng on the bench of Milan.

Essien was as usual a formidable force in the midfield battles against his compatriots.

He was hoewever replaced at halftime by Brazilian Ramires at a time Chelsea were up by a goal.

Muntari on the other hand saw full time action with young Kingsley Boateng replacing the not too impressive Kevin-Prince Boateng late in the game.

Chelsea have now won all five pre-season games and will now be coming up against former coach Carlo Ancelotti and his Real Madrid team on August 8.

Milan on the other hand will face LA Galaxy on the same day.
