A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has urged security services in the country not to be partial in their operations.
Speaking on Oman FM’s political analysis programme, “National Agenda”, Buabeng Asamoah, who was keen about the actions and inactions of the security agencies, implored them to enforce the law on all persons irrespective of their political affiliations.
“If people are wrong, they are wrong. When people allegedly set government properties ablaze, arrest them…If the Police does not do impartial law enforcement, there’s always self defence.”
He accused the security services, particularly the Police Service, for failing to arrest foot soldiers of the ruling National Democratic Congress who were reported to have set government properties and offices ablaze in protest against the nomination and or dismissal of some District and Municipal Chief Executives.
“Nobody can say that because his party is steering the affairs of the nation, the officials are powerful that they can burn cars, and won’t be arrested…They can walk about doing whatever they want to…they should be arrested…the security services must comply with the constitutional provisions since they are the pronouncement of the Supreme Court,” Yaw Buabeng Asamoah said.
