In its bid to revive its highly-respected youth academy, Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak have slapped in an advertisement inviting young players to have trials with the club.
Auroras, the name for the youth side of the Accra giants, has a tradition of unearthing exceptional young talents and developing them into world class stars.
But after falling behind the likes of Liberty Professionals and Amidaus in attracting the best youth talents in the country, the new Managing Director of the club is reviving the vision.
High local transfer fees and disloyalty from mercenary players have resulted in the Phobians seeking to hones players in their tradition, grooming them into world class and loyal players.
Auroras made us a household name in youth development and produced a host of brilliant footballers for Ghana and the world.
Notable among the famed graduates of our once vibrant youth system are Yaw Preko, Stephen Appiah, Joe Addo, Shamo Quaye, Ablade Kumah, Sebastian Barnes, Ali Jaraah, Ishmael Addo and Sammy Adjei to mention but a few of these stars.
They are now seeking to revive this enviable youth system to produce the next generation of football icons.
While embarking on a justify-your-inclusion exercise, they will also be poaching talented players from colts clubs across the country.
They are inviting YOUNG footballers with EXCEPTIONAL talent to present themselves for assessment as per the following schedule:
Monday 5th August – Friday 9th August, 2013: Technical Assessment at the El-wak Sports Stadium, Accra; from 8:00am – 5:00pm each day.
Age Limit: 19years (proof of age will be a distinct advantage)
