Michael Essien
Michael Essien was named in Jose Mourinho’s 25-man Chelsea squad which flew out to America on Tuesday afternoon for pre-season.
The midfielder was part of their Asian leg of pre-season training and showed glimpses of his return to top form.
Essien is expected to play in all of four games before the team return to London on August 10.
The 30-year-old is making a return to the Europa League holders after spending last season on loan at Real Madrid.
