Ghana winger Christian Atsu
Scottish club Celtic have denied making an offer for Ghana winger Christian Atsu.
Reports were rife in Scotland over the weekend the Hoops have launched a double bid including £5m offer to Porto for the Liverpool target.
But the Glasgow-based club’s spokesman Garry Parker was firm in his denial no bidf has been launched for the Ghana international.
“I’ve no idea,” he said when the name of Atsu was put to him.
“We’ve got options, I’m not going to say who they are, but there are people we like.
“I’d say we’d like to sign another two or three – but that’s down to the manager. We have our sights on a few players and we’ll see what happens.”
Manager Neil Lennon is allowed a wildcard signing before Wednesday’s Champions League qualifier at home to Elfsborg following the sale of Garry Hooper to Norwich.
