When Rawlings Advised Mills To Quit Politics Some NDC Gurus Were Egging Him On

Professor John Evans Atta Mills may have died and gone but questions still remain about how he passed onto eternal glory.

All manner of speculations have been made regarding what led to his death.

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Michael Omari Wadie, is asking how come in one breath some claim the late president died of cancer, while others allege he died as a result of a massive stroke he suffered.

Speaking on Okay fm, he pointed out that cancer and stroke cannot be the same sickness, averring that it is surprising how President John Dramani Mahama can bask in the joy of being president but cannot muster courage and confidence enough to tell Ghanaians exactly what caused the death of the late Professor Mills.

“If the late President Mills was a statesman and the NDC recognizes him as such and that state funds were used to finance his funeral, then we deserve the right to know what killed him”, the former NPP chairman for Ayawaso East Wuogon Constituency said.

He stressed that whatever happened to the late President Mills can occur to any sitting President thus it is important that Ghanaians know what killed the late law Professor Mills to prevent future happenings to any president of the republic.

He accused close confidantes of the late president of being greedy and interested in only what wealth they can amass instead of focusing on his ill-health and letting Ghanaians in on his health status.

“When Ex-President Rawlings was advising him to resign for the sake of his sickness, some members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) were urging him to move on with his Presidential ambition”, Mr. Wadie revealed.
