To Know What Killed Mills, Write A Letter To Request

Critics requesting for the autopsy report of late President John Evans Atta Mills have been asked to write letters to government or his family members by Dela Edem before the cause of death would be revealed.

The issue of finding what killed the man known as “Asomdweehene” has popped up one year after his passing on bringing up various criticisms and suspicions.

However, speaking as a panellist on Peace FM’s morning show, ‘Kokrokoo’ programme, member of the Communication team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dela Edem says he does not understand why the issue has resurrected because “it is not going to put food on our table; however, those insisting must write a letter to the family so that they will tell you what killed Prof Mills”.

He says it is interesting to note that those requesting for what killed late Prof Mills are not family members, adding, “It is sad… We should let his name rest in peace”

He accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of requesting for what killed late President Mills because they just want to do politicking with it and nothing else”

“Why are they not asking for what killed former Vice President Aliu Mahama: they should put this questions aside because it is no longer necessary. They should let the nation as well as the family members get their peace of mind” Dela told Kwami Sefa-Kayi.

However, in a quick rebuttal, a policy analyst of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed described Dela’s assertion of writing the letter as infantile.

“It is so infantile to ask us to write letters to government or the family members before we get the coroner’s inquest; so infantile. We don’t need to write to his family members seeking clearance before we know what killed him…

“To settle the issue and clear the suspicion, grant us the inquest. It is even an indictment on the part of NDC and government that after a year, you have not even found what killed him and you have the audacity to celebrate his one year. We are not making the demands for the luxury of it…if we don’t have the right to ask what about the family members,” he questioned.

24th July, 2013 marked the one year anniversary of the passing away of late President Evans Atta Mills.

However, up till now the actual cause of his death is not known expect the fact that he suffered a severe heart attack.
