The former National Coordinator of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA) Abuga Pele has vehemently denied ordering payments to Goodwill Consultants a service provider under GYEEDA.

A ministerial committee tasked to investigate alleged misappropriation of funds at GYEEDA, among other things found that Pele ordered payment to the tune of $2.3 million to the company for no work done.

The report also indicted the Member of Parliament (MP) for Chiana Paga for approving contracts at a time when he had resigned as National Coordinator.

Even though the report is yet to be released, Joy News has intercepted a copy and has been serializing its content.

In a reaction to the content of the report, Abuga Pele told Joy News, ‘I never authorized payment of a cedi,’ let alone $2.3 million to a company.

He said if the committee members had done a little ‘painstaking investigations’ they would have known that the 2.3 million dollar allegation was untrue.

Abuga Pele confirmed having witnessed contracts signed at a time when he had had resigned as Coordinator, but said he did so only because the President had asked that all heads of institutions and DCEs to stay on until new appointments are made.

He said he is waiting for the President to officially release the report so he can respond accordingly.
