Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah has launched a foundation to support the needy in his native country.

The foundation with its name JOMEN aims to provide logistical support and fund activities for orphanages in the West African country.

The 23-year-old wants to give back to society and will therefore make donations to orphanages in the country.

The 2009 World Cup winner started his professional career with Ashantigold before joining Free State Stars in South Africa.

He joined Udinese in 2010, moved to Spanish side Granada on loan before settling with French Lique 1 side Eviab, signing a four-year deal in July 2011.
