Tano South DCE endorsed

THE President’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for Tano South in the Brong Ahafo Region, Mr Bukari Zakari Anaba, has received an overwhelming endorsement from members of the assembly at Bechem.

Mr Anaba, who was re-nominated by the President, polled 49 out of 51 votes  representing 96.1 per cent at the election  conducted by the District Directorate of the Electoral Commission (EC) led by Mrs Mavis Emefa Gyimah, the Tano South District Electoral Officer.

Mr Anaba, was sworn in by the Magistrate of the Bechem Magistrate Court, Mr Joseph Akuoko to  loud cheers and applause from his supporters who graced the occasion.

He thanked the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and stated that his re-election was a call to duty.

Mr Anaba appealed to all the assembly members and other stakeholders to work hard to advance the development agenda of the district  for the benefit of the people.

He expressed his gratitude to nananom for their wise counsel which had aided the development of  the district  and appealed to them to continue to support his administration spiritually and morally in its quest to better the lives of the people.

Mr  Anaba further pledged that his administration would continue to commit themselves to the areas of infrastructure development, poverty reduction programmes and the extension of electricity to various parts of the district.

He  used the opportunity also to thank the president for the confidence reposed in him for nominating him  the second time.

The Presiding Member (PM), Mr Anthony Opoku, in his welcome address, described the nominee as a man of “inexhaustible” energy whose passion to serve his people could not be underestimated, adding that the nominee had performed creditably and, therefore, it was appropriate to give him the nod to enable him to continue with the good work he was doing.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Opoku Attuahene, who represented the Regional Minister. Mr Paul Evans Aidoo commended the assembly members for their sense of maturity and for their overwhelming endorsement of the President’s nominee.
