A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) disciplinary committee, Ayikoi Otoo has described Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby’s latest response to his suspension is a clear indication that he does not understand the party’s as disciplinary process.

The party’s disciplinary committee has placed a two-year suspension on Dr. Wereko-Brobby following his harsh criticism of the party’s 2012 vice Presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

He has however refused to acknowledge his suspension and has stated that he will treat it with the contempt it deserves.

According Mr. Otoo, the suspended party stalwart is shooting himself in the foot.

“Dr Wereko-Brobby’s conduct was referred to the national disciplinary committee for investigations. The investigations were done, and a report was issued. The National Executive Committee has met and endorsed the recommendations and a statement to that effect has been issued,” he stated.

“If he thinks he is a member of the party but does not want to respect the party’s constitution, then that is his funeral,” he said.

He further mentioned that Dr. Wereko-Brobby’s attack on him concerning the role he played in the former’s suspension clearly shows his lack of understanding of the disciplinary processes.

“I have explained on other networks that he doesn’t seem to understand the work of a fact finding committee. I should ask him questions, at the end of which I will form an opinion and make my finding so I am both a prosecutor and the judge. That is what he should understand.”

“At the end of the day, I can only make recommendations through the body that set me up. I don’t have the final say in the matter so what is his beef? What is he complaining about?” he asked.
