Boy meets untimely death writing B.E.C.E

The ongoing BECE will end on Monday

A 16 year old boy writing his Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) in the Ashanti Region met his untimely death, Friday, when he was accidentally hit by a stone from a mower at the Examination Centre.

Frank Noru, a pupil of State Experimental School was writing the ongoing external examination at the Opoku Ware Senior High School where the incident occurred.

Luv FM’s Kwabena Owusu-Ampratwum told Joy News the boy had finished writing the ‘Paper 1’ and was sitting outside preparing to go back to the exam hall to finish the ‘Paper II’ but that was not to be.

A tractor with a mower attached was clearing portions of the school land but hurled a stone which accidentally hit the young boy who was then sitting at a distance, Kwabena reported.

The boy was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital but could not survive the impact of the stone.

He was pronounced dead on arrival, the boy’s guardian, Ahmed confirmed to Luv News.
