Ghana defender John Boye thanked Almighty God for Sunday’s table-topping 2-0 win over Lesotho in a Group D 2014 World Cup qualifier.

The Stade Rennes centre-back put the Black Stars ahead in the 43rd minute before captain Asamoah Gyan doubled the lead on 84 minutes.

Ghana are now leaders in the pool with a one point advantage after then leaders Zambia drew 1-1 at home with Sudan at home to slip down.

“We just thank God for giving us this victory because it is not our strength, it is not by our power but by his Grace so we are all happy that we are topping the table,” Boye said.

“We can now look forward to our next game so that we can be sure of everything.

“They wanted to lose so that Zambia will qualify but what God has written is written so just thank God for giving us this victory.

“It is not going to be easy because everybody wants to win. We just tell the fans to pray for us so that everything will be fine for us.”
