Kasapreko Company Limited Donates Gh¢21,780 To Heart Foundation

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Kasapreko Company Limited, a leading producer of alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages in Ghana, has presented a cheque of Gh¢ 21,780 to the Ghana Heart Foundation in support of the 2 cardio patients to enable them undergo surgery.

The presentation was made following requests sent to Kasapreko Company Limited by the father of 3-year old Master Djabanor Tettey Terry and the other by 26-year old Bernice Agbeko through the National Cardiothoracic Centre and the Ghana Heart Foundation.

Led by the Human Resource Department, staff of Kasapreko Company Limited voluntarily donated various sums to this worthy cause. Management then felt the need to support by adding up to the contribution made by staff.

Dr Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, Director of the National Cardiothoracic Center, and President of the Ghana Heart Foundation, who received the cheque on behalf of the two beneficiaries thanked Kasapreko Company Limited for the gesture and called on other corporate bodies and Ghanaians to do same.

He said that the general public who have access to mobile phones can donate 60 pesewas to the Heart Foundation by sending the text, ‘Life’ to the shortcode 1766 on all networks.

He said: “If a quarter of all mobile phone users do that, I promise that we can get more than enough money to operate on the many patients who need support. I urge all businesses to devote a day in the week, just to text ‘Life’ to 1766.”

Making the presentation, the DMD reiterated that, it is a basic principle of KCL to be socially responsible and that the strength of the company is in the contribution it makes to the communities they operate in through its humanitarian initiatives. He hoped that the contribution would go a long way to save the lives of the two patients.
