The author of the controversial book “Chasing the Elephant into the Bush”, Dr. Arthur Kobina Kennedy, has given kingpins of the New Patriotic Party the benefit of doubt over speculations making round that they are tirelessly working to make Dr. Bawumia the next flag bearer of the party in 2016.
In an interview with Okay FM, the former Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party revealed that they have been fervently warned by their leaders not to put their hopes in 2016, but put their whole energy and efforts in the Supreme Court issue.
He pontificated that per the advice given to them by leaders of their party; it would be too early to prepare the grounds for a new flag bearer.
“They told us to put all our hearts in the Supreme Court issue and I want to believe that no group within the party have been meeting to prepare the grounds for Dr. Bawumia to become the next flagbearer”, he averred.
Dr. Arthur Kennedy refused to make further comment on the issue and noted that `it would be unfair on the part of the leaders if such moves are underway as at now.
