Lyrikal, who rocked the mic for more the 15 years as a founding member of the Tema based hiplife group, Ikonz has died. The rapper also went by the stage name Lyikal Monxta.
The news was initially made public on the social media of the Tipaeley Records artiste.
Although the cause of death was not immediately known, Lyrikal lengthy battle with stomach illness had been in the news for years.
Ikonz brought a whole new look to rap and hip-hop from Tema. They proved that rap could come from any street which makes them one of the most popular hiplife/hiphop young acts of all time.
Ikonz recently added a new member making them 3 and they have released songs such as ‘Bad’, ‘Tonga’, ‘Mr All Weather’, ‘New War,’ ‘From Far (WO Gbe Jeke)’, ‘Party Ryda’, ‘Backcase’ and more.
