Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, lead Counsel for National Democratic Congress, the third respondent in the ongoing hearing of the petition challenging the results of 2012 presidential election, continues with his interrogation of star witness Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the 2012 vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party.
Three petitioners from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are challenging the Electoral Commission’s declaration of John Dramani Mahama as winner of 2012 presidential elections.
The petitioners are Jake Obestibi-Lamptey (National Chairman), Nana Akufo-Addo (2012 Presidential candidate) and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia (2012 Vice-Presidential candidate).
They are asking the court to annul more than four million votes they say were added to President Mahama’s votes as against those of Nana Akufo Addo in the 2012 polls.
