Land owners offer N7m to families in Delta community

UGHELLI — Owners of the site acquired by Midwestern Oil and Gas Company Plc, at Umusadege-Ogbe community of Otagba-Ogbe, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State, have offered N7 million to seven families in the community in appreciation of their support and cooperation since the acquisition of the land by the company.

President of the land owners, Mr. Alex Ikuni, while presenting the money to the community, noted that the people were solidly behind the land owners throughout the agitation for their compensation from the company’s management.

He enjoined the people to redouble their support and cooperation to the land owners. Receiving the money on behalf of the community, Chief Francis Obigbor, thanked the land owners for the kind gesture and assured them of the community’s continual support. He, however, advised the people of the community, particularly the land owners, to always follow constitutional means in agitating for their rights.
