Real Madrid midfielder Michael Essien is only a booking away from missing this season’s UEFA Champions League final should his side qualify.
The versatile player picked up a yellow card during the quarter-final first leg victory at the Santiago Bernabeu against Galatasaray.
Essien is set to return to the Real Madrid starting line-up after overcoming a hamstring injury.
Also, Alvaro Arbeloa has been ruled out of selection after picking up an injury.
Essien’s teammate Sergio Ramos will also miss the final if he gets a card and Jose Mourinho’s team progress.
The on-loan Chelsea player will be seeking to help the Madridistas overturn a 4-1 deficit from the first leg against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
