A former National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Anthony Abayifaa Karbo has said, the perception that the lead counsel of the NDC, Tsatsu Tsikata, is going to torment Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the witness box during his cross examination has proven futile as the star witness is rather ‘cruising’ and ‘relaxed’ for him.
“For me I will say Bawumia demystifies mystic around Tsatsu. Because during this few weeks, Dr. Bawumia has been able to stand the battle of three prominent lawyers and currently in a cruise control because he is taking things easy and responding to matters calmly. So is this all the noise people were making about Tsatsu or there is something better to come out from the skies?
“…I also say that Dr. Bawumia truly represents the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and his hard work in the party is known to all now. Due to his aptitude, that is the main reason Nana Addo chose him as his running mate and he has done tremendously well,” he said.
Karbo who always downplays the integrity of the counsel for President Mahama, finally conceded that for Bawumia to stand Tony Lithur, shows the braveness and intelligence exhibited by the second petitioner.
“Tony Lithur is not a small lawyer as well as Quarshie-Idun, a senior lawyer, a legal brain who was called to the Bar before some of the panel of judges hearing the case. Tsatsu Tsikata that everyone was praising did nothing. We could see that Bawumia was more even relaxed.
“…Dr. Bawumia still composed humble, intelligent, short and smart answers. And I will say again. Ask Dr. Bawumia 11,000 pink sheet questions and you will get the same 11,000 consistent answers from him,” he said.
According to him, Dr. Bawumia swearing by the Quran shows that he is living by faith and that is manifesting in court.
“Mr. Tsatsu attempted to invoke that creating the impression that Dr. Bawumia should recall swearing by the Holy Quran and I can say with no fear that there is credibility in Dr. Bawumia and he stands for truth. I was happy when the Supreme Court Judges called on Tsatsu to cease that,” he said this on Asempa FM
