The English team of Tottenham confirmed its interest in the Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah of FC Basel. According to the British press, the Spurs have overseen the player last Thursday in the semi-finals of Europa between Basel and Chelsea (2-1).
Andre Villas-Boas asked his executive committee to have the means to recruit the Pharaoh next season.
Salah joined the Swiss club last summer from Arab Contractors in Egypt. Under contract until 2016, he discussed his future in a recent interview. The Swiss media states that only a check of 20 million could convince the Basel leaders.
The 20-year-old in particular caught the eye of Tottenham after the two-legged quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Basel had eliminated the Spurs.
