Timothy Kwesi Agyemang, the ultimate winner of the MTN ‘Dream Big X’treme Promotion,’ has been presented with a cheque of GH¢150,000.

The 70-year-old cocoa farmer, who won the jackpot prize, had his number randomly selected from the list of MTN subscribers who participated in the 100-day promotion.

About eight percent of the over 11 million subscribers of MTN participated in the promotion which was launched on December 27, 2012 and ended at midnight on April 7, 2013.

Three lucky winners won a sleek Jaguar XF2012 each in the monthly draws while a total of 200 people received GH¢5,000 each.

Over 9,000 people also won airtime while 100 android phones have so far been won by some lucky winners.

At the presentation ceremony in Accra, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTN Ghana Michael Ikpoki stated that the ultimate objective of the promotion is to demonstrate MTN’s focus on making the lives of its customers brighter.

He added that “MTN considered how to add more value to the customer experience with a promotion that would enable customers win appreciable and valuable cash and/or property; we came up with the Dream Big X’treme promotion.”

He congratulated the jackpot winner and other winners for the confidence exhibited in MTN to deliver on its promise.

“I will like to say thank you to all subscribers for their loyalty to the brand. We remain committed to delivering the best customer experience through innovative products and services,” Mr. Ikpoki emphasized.

In an interview with CITY&BUSINESS GUIDE, Mr. Agyemang said he was elated when he received a call from MTN that he had won the ultimate prize.

“In fact I could not believe it when a lady from MTN called to tell me that I had won the jackpot prize of GH¢150,000. Even though I had sent a text to the short code 2020, I did not think I was going to emerge as the overall winner.”

He stated that he would use part of the money to take care of his family and expand his cocoa farm and save the rest.
