Ikeja -An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday in Lagos slammed a N3 million bail on three accused charged with terrorism and illegal possession of explosives.
In addition, the court granted them two sureties each in like sum.
The accused — Ebenezer Akinbolade, 45; John Damilola, 30; and Tolulope Vincent, 30 — are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, terrorism and possessing explosives.
The prosecutor, ASP Barth Nwaokoye said the accused committed the offences at 2.15 p.m. on April 13 at Emco Guest House, Lagos.
He said the accused, who were armed with explosives, had planned to harm one Alhaji Adewale Nurudeen, a business partner.
“The acts are likely to promote acts of terrorism and endanger Nurudeen’s life.’’
Nwaokoye said the offences contravened Sections 242, 401 and 409 of Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Section 401 prescribes life imprisonment for convicted offenders of terrorism.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A. Demi-Ajayi, adjourned the case to June 5 for mention. (NAN)
