Ghana defender John Mensah played in his second consecutive game in Stade Rennes 2-1 loss to Troyes in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

The former Black Stars captain was again a 6oth minute replacement for Nigerian Onyekachi Apam in the game played at Stade de la Route de Lorient.

It is the second straight game for the ex Sunderland loanee since returning from injury.

Mensah came on to partner compatriot John Boye at the heart of Rennes defence but was unable to halt the side’s losing streak.

Frederic Antonetti’s side have now lost all of their last five games which sees the Red and Blacks drop further to 10th in Ligue 1.

Rennes must now beat Nice in their next Ligue 1 game to halt their losing streak in the season run in with four games remaining.
