Asante Kotoko players struggled to beat Eleven Wise 2-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Michael Helegbe’s brace secured an extra time win for Asante Kotoko against Eleven Wise in the MTN FA Cup game played on Sunday.
The former Ghana U23 captain opened the scoring for Kotoko after Michael Akuffo had missed a penalty to send an appreciable crowd at the Baba Yara Stadium into ecstasy.
The hosts were however pegged back with an equalizer from Justice Apaw to send the game to extra time.
Helegbe grabbed the match winner for the Porcupine Warriors in extra time to book the Kotoko’s semi final spot in the competition.
The Premier League champions will now face Amidaus Professionals for a place in the grand finale in this season’s MTN FA Cup contest.
