Baba Jamal Roots For Brief Hold On The Creation Of New Districts

The proposed Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural development, Mohammed Baba Jamal has rooted for a freeze on the creation of new districts for sometime.

He says a temporary hold on the formation of the new districts will put Government in a proper position to resource the existing ones with the needed logistics and finances.

He said currently some districts assemblies are operating from unfitting locations, therefore attention must be put on strengthening the capacity of the existing ones.

Mr. Jamal said this when he took his turn to be interviewed by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.
