NPP Lawyers Behave As If Objections Count Like Football League Points – Gen. Mosquito

General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has revealed that he is at sea over the euphoria by lawyers and members of the New Patriotic Party because the nine-member Supreme Court court upheld an objection raised by them.

An attempt by the lawyer for the Electoral Commission (EC) Mr. Quarshie-Idun, to tender in new evidence in court was shot down by Justice William Atuguba when the lead counsel for the petitioners, Phillip Addison raised an objection to the move.

Mr. Quarshie-Idun had sought to cross-examine Dr. Bawumia on a polling station named “Presby JHS code number H23 0401”, where the key witness voted.

But counsel for the petitioners questioned the relevance of using the said polling station especially when that polling station was not in disputation.

Although many are yet to identify core members of the New Patriotic Party making a fuss out of the objection which favoured them in court on Thursday, General Secretary for the NDC has forewarned them not to assume that it is a roadmap to victory.

He claimed on Okay FM that both NPP members and their lawyers were behaving like the Supreme Court is a playground where objections won are tabulated like the accumulation of points in a football league to crown champions.

“They are out there making noise and telling people they have won because they won one objection. I wonder where their lawyers undertook their law studies. They are acting like cases are won through the number of objections ruled in one’s favour,” he said.
