AC Milan star Kevin-Prince Boateng says he will not leave Italy because of ‘morons’ who perpetuate racism in football.
The Ghanaian has been a subject of racial abuse in recent times.
He led a famous pitch-walkout of the Milan team after being booed with monkey chants in an exhibition match with lower-tier side Pro Patria back in January.
The ex Ghana international was again made a target of racial attacks by Juventus fans in last weekend’s 1-0 loss – leading to a fine being slapped on the Italian champions.
This has intensified reports the 26-year-old is set to leave Italy to escape the increasing spate of racism directed at him.
But the former Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder insists he will not leave Italy just because of the despicable conduct of some ‘morons’ who propagate racism in football.
“I’m really sad to see and hear more things like that. But I cannot and do not want a change because of four to five morons,” he said.
Boateng has been made an ambassador for a UN and FIFA anti-racism campaigns after his ordeal with racial attacks on his person.
