ONE OF Ghana’s upcoming hiphop/hiplife musicians, Brainy Adufah, also known as Brainy in the showbiz scene, has declared his readiness to take hiplife music to another level with his hit single ‘One Chance’ and yet to be released album.
Knowing very well that it takes a mature and enlightened mind to become a music icon, Brainy, whose musical career started some years back, has taken his career very seriously to meet the challenges ahead of him.
The release of his hit single is in fulfilment of a cherished dream to take his music career to another level. Brainy said although he was not doing music as a full time hobby, he wanted to develop his musical career to enable him to reach the top of the ladder.
Known for his unique delivery, Brainy, who wanted to be recognized on both local and international music platforms as one of the legendary artistes to have ever lived when he is no more, always leaves an impression with the kind of lyrics he uses in his songs.
His hit single ‘One Chance’, a mid-tempo song, often referred to as music for the masses, enjoys considerable airplay. This fusion of good drum beats, bass and rhythm guitar, which are felt in the song, makes the song irresistibly danceable.
The song has inspirational and soul-soothing lyrics, and though it is very obvious to identify the fact that it was composed and sang by a Ghanaian, the rhythm and modulations in it could easily be compared to foreign tunes.
Brainy developed his love for music at a very early age during his primary school education at John Teye Memorial where he his eldest sister being the Head Entertainment Prefect then. This gave him the opportunity to make his first debut on stage as he mimicked some raps from his then icons American hip hop trio De La Soul.
In his first year in SHS, Brainy became the second form one student to get his demo on the school’s musical compilation CD. Right after this, getting his demos on the subsequent compilations became easy because he became the favourite of most of the seniors since none of the songs he made was a flop.
Due to his love for music, Brainy was able to secure a place in the entertainment committee as co-Mc. He performed a lot of his demos during entertainment nights with the crowd always going ecstatic.
Brainy was able to establish himself as one of the best rappers in Koforidua Secondary Technical School and was also known in all neighbouring schools for his overwhelming songs and performances.
Brainy decided to pursue music as a full time career during his second year in the university. He has since then done a lot of recording in various studios where he got de chance to work with renowned sound engineers and producers like Kaywa, PossiGee, Skillz, Ball J and Killbeats.
He released his first single ‘One Chance’ which featured Luther and was produced by Skillz and Ball J. ‘One Chance’ after its release earlier this year is still enjoying massive airplay on Hitz FM. Brainy as a hip hop artiste looks up to Canadian rapper/singer Drake and Nigerian rapper M.I.
