Bawku Circuit Court Remands Two Royals For Murder

Two sons of the chief of Gagberi in the Garu-Tempane district of the Upper East Region are in the grips of the Bawku police for murder.

The two, Awini Ayebego 34 and Fatawu Awuni Ayebego 24 have been remanded in Police custody for allegedly murdering one Adamu Abugri, 41.

The Garu-Tempane District Police Commander, Superintendant Richard Appiah confirmed the incident to Citi News.

He narrated the incident saying, “The two brothers attacked the deceased (Adamu Abugri) with matches in his room over allegations that their father, Gagberi Naba Ayebego Awin was in love with the deceased elderly brother’s wife.”

According to him, the woman in question has since fled from the Gagberi community and the two suspects will reappear in court on May 2.

The deceased has since been buried while investigations continue.
