Abuja, Nigeria; April 24, 2013: Leading telecom services provider Airtel Nigeria has commissioned the first of several model Express Shops to enhance customer service delivery experience in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The opening of the model shop, which came barely forty eight hours after the official commencement of Mobile Number Portability, indicates Airtel’s readiness to take customer service experience to a standard that is comparable to global standards.

The latest Express Shop, which brings the total number of Airtel direct customer touch points to 100 across the country, will provide customers access to excellent customer experience and an array of products and services they need to stay connected including phones, SIM cards, SIM Porting, SIM Swap, bill payment, airtime top-up cards, query resolution, other accessories and general enquiries.

Commissioning the ultra-modern shop, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Airtel, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, remarked that the opening of the Express Shop in Abuja underlines Airtel Nigeria’s commitment to providing first class service experience to customers in the unfolding promise of the newly introduced Mobile Number Portability.

According to Ogunsanya, the commissioning of the Express Shop in Abuja is part of a drive to ensure that customers get the same first class experience in all Airtel outlets across the country both in company run outlets as well as those run by Channel Partners.

Said he: “we are pleased with this opportunity to bring closer the Airtel experience and our unique value offerings to the door steps of our customers to experience unbeatable service that will optimize our rich range of unique offerings and services in data, voice, bill payment, query resolution and general enquiries.”

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director of Zeph Associates, Airtel trade partners who collaborated with the company on the Express Shop, Mr. Tochukwu Nwosu affirmed the resolve of his firm to provide outstanding customer experience at the Express Shop in line with the brand values of Airtel.

It would be recalled that Airtel Nigeria whose parent group Bharti Airtel, ranks the fourth largest telecommunications firm in the world, offers the largest Broadband services with a nationwide spread covering over 200 cities and towns including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Airtel Nigeria has consistently won awards for outstanding customer service from industry regulator Nigeria Communications Commission and various bodies including the media and other stakeholders monitoring the sector.

Only recently, both Abuja-based Leadership newspaper and Lagos-based City People named Airtel Nigeria the best telecom company of the year. Airtel also emerged the best network in a performance audit by the Nigeria Communications Commission emerging with the best performance on all four indices.
