Manchester City have sent scouts to monitor the progress of Malmo FF Ghana youth striker Benjamin Fadi, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

Fadi, 18, joined the Swedish top-flight side at the beginning of the season and has played a part in their impressive start in the Allsvenskan League so far.

The English giants are reported to be interested in the potential of the player and have sent scouts to monitor his progress and report back on his performance.

Malmo refused to release the striker for Ghana at the recently concluded African Youth Championship where the Black Satellites won silver, having played a key role in the qualification process.

But he’s been surprisingly left out of the preliminary 41-man squad announced by coach Sellas Tetteh to start preparations ahead of the FIFA World Youth Championship in Turkey in June.

The impressive youngster would be hoping to catch the eye of the Ghanaian trainer for a possible return to the team.
