Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko would confirm former star player Abdul Razak as the club’s new technical head, according to reports in the local media.

The 57-year-old former African player of the year award winner is back in Kumasi after leaving Malian side Stade Malien last season.

Reports in the Ghanaian media claim Kotoko officials are advanced in talks with the 1978 AFCON winner to take the post of technical head.

The Golden Boy will be tasked with responsibilities of providing technical assistance to head coach Mas-U Didi who has come under criticisms from the club’s fans.

Kotoko officially dismissed reports carried by local press suggesting the former Ghana Women’s U17 coach has been given a three match ultimatum.

Razak had a stint with Kotoko as head coach in 1999 and also acted as assistant coach for Ghana when Portuguese Mariano Barreto was in charge in 2003.

Dramani himself stated after Kotoko’s 1-0 win over Tema Youth in the Glo Premier League on Wednesday he does not fear the axe.

Kotoko are currently third on the Glo Premier League log and are just a point shy of leaders Medeama’s 42.
