In-demand Ghana striker Mahatma Otoo has taken over as the country’s top-flight leading scorer after his heroics in Wednesday’s league matches.
Otoo, who is wanted by clubs in England, France and South Africa, has been instrumental in the revival of Hearts of Oak’s revival in the second round.
The Accra-side’s outstanding second round form has coincided with striker Mahatma Otoo’s rich scoring form.
The former national U-20 striker struck a brace to take his tally this season to 13.
This means he has overtaken Amidaus Professional’s Yahaya Mohammed, who was the previous leading scorer by three goals.
Otoo is now the Glo Premier League’s top scorer in a keen race followed by AshantiGold’s Yakubu Mohammed on 11 goals.
Yahaya Mohammed has 10 goals apiece with Francis Narh of Tema Youth and Liberty Professionals’ Kennedy Ashia.
Otoo has been linked with clubs in Europe and South Africa as his contract with Hearts ends in June.
