Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has invited American rapper Wyclef Jean to perform at his Charity Game in June.

The Ghana international will be organizing his second charity event on June 8 in Accra with Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo leading a host of current and ex football greats for the game.

Essien pulled off an impressive event in his debut charity game two years ago which attracted a full crowd at the Accra Sports Stadium to promote peace in Africa.

He is now looking to organize an even better showpiece this year, hence the decision to bring in the three-time Grammy Award winner.

Essien through his Chelsea pal, Folrent Malouda have managed to secure the services of the American hit-maker who will be one of the headline performers in a musical concert that comes off just after the game at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“After the game there is a big concert, featuring Wyclef Jean as well, which Florent Malouda has helped with, and that will also be in the stadium,” Essien has revealed.

The charity game themed: “the Michael Essien Foundation Game of Hope and Inspiration” is aimed at raising funds for five African charities yet to be determined.

Essien’s own charity organisation has already opened public toilets, begun work on a library and helped renovate a hospital in his hometown of Awutu Breku.
