SMT Ghana Meets Customers

One of the leading construction equipment dealers in the country has opened its doors to existing clients and potential customers to expose them to a wide array of products.

Players in the construction industry, as well as small-scale miners converged on the premises of SMT Ghana Limited, formerly known as Multi-Tech Services Limited, official dealers of SDLG equipment in Ghana, to assess construction machinery on display including wheel loaders, compactors, excavators, back loaders, motor graders.

The company also markets Goodsense and D’avino products such as forklifts and self-loading concrete mixers.

At the two-day open day for customers, special offer on all SDLG equipment and financing options were announced.

Representatives of some commercial banks assisted patrons financially.

Hans Fischer, formerly of Volvo Construction and Equipment, based in Sweden and now responsible for Africa and the Middle East regions, noted that SDLG and Volvol entered a joint venture on December 2006.

He stated that 80,000 units of construction equipment produced by the two companies were sold across the world last year and recorded a turnover of $10-11 billion.

China is the largest market for the company, which currently has 4000 employees.

Johnny Benson, Head of Department at SMT Ghana Limited, noted that last year about 80 units of equipment were sold to operators in the construction and small-scale mining.

He said customers are guaranteed 200 hours or one year warranty on every unit of equipment.
