Ghana striker Prince Tagoe made a late entrance for Al Ettifaq in their Asian Champions League win over Pakhtakor on Wednesday night.
The former Ghana Premier League goal king replaced Saleh Bashir Al Dosari in the 83rd minute of Ettifaq’s vital home win in Dammam.
Tagoe has struggled for regular play time under Polish coach Maciej Skorza since arriving on-loan from Turkish club Bursaspor in January.
Not even a goal at the weekend in his first league start could earn him a place in the side’s 2-0 win over the Uzbekistani giants.
Goals from Yahya Al Sehiri and Jamaan Al Jamaam secured the win for Ettifaq.
The win puts them in second spot in Group B and with a great chance of progression in the competition.
They will however need to pick at least a vital away point in their final match away to leaders Lekhwiha next week to seal their progress.
