Work on radar tower at Half Assini progressing steadily – Foreman




Half Assini (W/R), April 23, GNA – Work is progressing steadily on the second phase of the Ghana Maritime Authority radar tower station at Half Assini in the Western Region.

The project, which is the third in the region is to boost security in Ghana’s oil and gas industry, is about 75 percent complete.

Mr Bright Kodzokpo, Site Foreman of Power Link Company, made this known to the Ghana News Agency at the project site.

He said the second phase, which consist of guard room, power house, fencing and shelter commenced in mid-February and is scheduled to be completed by April ending.

According to Mr Kodzokpo, the third and final stage of the project involving the installation of equipment would take place immediately on completion of the second phase.

He said similar projects at Axim and Takoradi are between 85 and 95 percent complete respectively.

The first phase of the Half Assini project, which involves the erection of a 55-metre long radar tower, was completed in January.

The Ghana Maritime Authority is constructing vessel traffic management intelligent project across the country to improve surveillance in the maritime system.
